TCAHA Youth House Hockey 2010-11
TCAHA offers house hockey for youth of all ages and skills.
The winter season house (recreational) programs offer competitive hockey with
lower ice costs, smaller time commitment, less out-of-town travel, and a
slightly lower level of competition than Rep. The costs listed are for
registration only and are mandatory for all players. Additional
expenses may be required for equipment, uniforms, extra ice, travel, etc.,
depending on the age group and the teams decisions on travel.
Registration is currently open and an early disocunt of $25 is
applied if registered by September 1. Registration closes September 15.
Players must attend house evaluations in order to be drafted to a team. If
a player cannot make it to any of the evaluation sessions, they must contact the
Coaching Director and the
Registrar and get their approval.
All
evaluations below are at the TRAC Ice Pavilion.

least one year in the Beginners Program to learn to skate, shoot, and
handle the puck. The Mite program will further enhance individual skills
while introducing players to team concepts and the rules of the game.

The Pee Wee age division is a significant transition for an up and coming
youth hockey player. No longer are they restricted from body checking
and slap shots. Therefore, practice sessions (especially pre-season) are
heavily focused on learning to give and receive a check, as well as the
skill of shooting slap shots.

Bantam age players are developing physically into adulthood, resulting
in a more physical and spirited approach to the game of hockey. While
hockey fundamentals are stressed at all ages, the needs of Bantam
players, both on and off the ice are somewhat different than they were
at the younger age divisions. Sportsmanship, team play, and skill
development are stressed, while enjoyment of the game is recognized as a
key component to keeping
players involved in youth hockey through the teenage years. |

While Bantam age players are still growing, Midgets have reached
adulthood physically (size and strength). Midget age players often have
jobs, cars, girl friends, boy friends, and increased scholastic demands.
At times, fitting hockey into their busy schedules can be difficult.
These factors are taken into account when scheduling and planning our
Midget Recreational program. |
